People need proof. They want things to be clearly seen. But faith operates beyond the humanly visible and possible. It is the evidence of things not seen. When nature’s fire burns, it is, but a radiant symbol of the nature of our God. For the scripture says our God is a consuming fire. So, every time you look at the flame on your stove, or strike a match, or sit by a fireside in a cozy atmosphere listening to the crackling wood, just remember that fire is the evidence of things not seen.
When you feel the breeze in your hair, or you watch a gust of wind, bend the trees in your front yard, or should you see the powerful hurricane forces that can blow down buildings, just remember that wind is evidence of things not seen. The wind of the Holy Ghost. The mighty rushing wind of Pentecost. Listen now…
