Faith is substance. It’s not empty belief rhetoric, or futile human endeavors. Faith is foundational. Faith has sturdy support systems, primarily the unshakable, unchanging Word of God. As we navigate a shifting culture we must build on durable concepts and relentless Biblical principles. We cannot sink into the quagmire of feelings and emotional reactions. We need the kind of faith that will hold us together in the most dramatic changes around us, during the most stressful storms, and through the most trying seasons of life. Listen now…

Psalm 27 is a great prophetic passage for the seeker of God. There is comfort in knowing that He is your defense against darkness and deception. He is your clarity in a confusing world. He is your hiding place in the severities of hostility and rejection. And, it’s the Lord who is the Source of the light. It doesn’t come from a manufactured, man-made origin. It isn’t derived from human opinion, but out of God’s own Omnipotence.

The Light of truth starts with an explanation. Someone had to share the Gospel, tell you about the cross, teach you about the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Then, out of that came a personal experience. You chose it for yourself. You discovered your own encounter with God. And, after that, you began to exercise your faith, walking with God, going through storms, developing through good and bad times. And finally, there is exposure. The Light is on, and you can’t be easily fooled by temptation or trial. Listen now…
