Narrative
Hour after hour the Lord has been reaching for the rebel. He has given a cross laden path to redemption. He has literally spilled blood to take away the blame. He has patiently paced the mercy floor waiting for one prayer, one submission, one hint of a desire to turn to Him. But you can only spurn the Spirit so long. Eventually the hourglass will drop the last grain sand. Mercy will close her ears. Grace will retire. The cross will be only a broken memory. The blood river will dry up. The ark doors will be closed on this generation of evil doers and God-haters and selfish rebels and every refuser of His Gospel. The Word is plain in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9:
2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled (to be brought into difficulties, stress, or struggles) rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed (previously hidden but made fully known) from heaven with his mighty angels,
2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance (penalty inflicted on wrong doers) on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. Listen now…
