The hairy garment. The smell of the field. The gruff expectations of a hunter. We have to be careful of habit forming desires that lead us away from the certainty of Apostolic doctrine. Just because you feel it doesn\u2019t mean you should say it, partake of it, or create a new belief system based on the power of that feeling. In the Kingdom of God it\u2019s faith first, feelings second. \u201cWe walk by faith and not by sight.\u201d II Corinthians 5:7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He asked for venison and got goat. Venison was wild game associated over time with hunting deer. So, the taste of goat was disguised to resemble deer. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. The taste test is failed when we trust the wrong feelings. We end up settling for doctrinal goat when God wants to give us the true venison of His will. We swallow the philosophies of the world as if they are the same thing as God\u2019s unmatched promises. We pursue experiments in the name of freedom. We exercise <em>liberties<\/em> because we believe we can do what we want without consequence. We lose <em>intimacy<\/em> with God because we\u2019ve been convinced that sensual things of the world are equal substitutes. We <em>bless<\/em> the things that God would curse. We <em>evoke<\/em> conclusions and content and commentary based on sensations, sensations that can cause us to lose our sensitivity to the Spirit. The more you <em>repeatedly<\/em> ignore the conscience the more desensitized one becomes to the wiles of the devil. We <em>try<\/em> things we should avoid. We <em>incite<\/em> patterns of behavior that could be avoided if we simply followed the instructions of the Word.
