1Corinthians 7:18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
1Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
1Corinthians 7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
Every calling is of equal importance to the Kingdom, but not of equal authority. Your background doesn’t keep you from being appointed. Your social status does not keep you from being anointed for a spiritual task. He can use a nameless servant girl to lead Naaman to a healing prophet. He can use a humble girl Rhoda to recognize an apostle at the gate of deliverance and door of Revival. He can use a farmer from a non-descript region of Israel to proclaim heart rending prophecies, as he did with Amos. Their calling in the society and the overall concept of the Church of the Living God was not limited by social restrictions, education, or ethnicity. You can have money or be as broke as an egg dropped from a high-rise building. You can have popularity or be unknown and overlooked by the crowd. In other words, you can be God’s chosen witness.
There are portions of this that apply to the five-fold ministry and if you are a part of that then you know the relentless fire that burns with your calling. But it also applies to corporate body, to the priesthood of believers; you are called. You are chosen. You have distinct purpose. You live in the separation-zone of God’s blessings and giftings for your career; for your family; for your local church and the man of God to whom you submit. There is a lion of faith in you to fight back the evil forces surrounding your city. There is a spiritual connection to specific significance where you work, the people you are around; the souls that you link to everyday in this chaotic world. You are not random; you are redeemed; and you have a righteous calling as a light of the world. Listen now…
