An Ocean of Anointing

What is the difference between a reservoir and a river? One is man-made. The other is God-made. A reservoir is measured in feet and depth. Man determines the volume of water. But a river is determined by rain levels and banks and flow. Spiritual things from God are immeasurable. You can’t control its current, you just have to move with it. Spiritual movements are powerful as long as we don’t put up humanistic barricades and try to control it. And in the world of the Spirit, God has given us depths of anointing. We don’t have to settle for little ponds of religion. We need to use powers of truth at our altars to touch a hurting and hopeless world. Go deeper. Pray a little more. Three Frogs and a Sword

What comes out of the mouth of this trio of darkness is dubious to the mind, dangerous to the soul, and destructive to the body. If you listen long enough to their speeches you will feel yourself begin to question things that were concretely driven deep in your heart. If you taste the temptation of their offerings you will begin to believe that holiness tastes nasty and rivers of living water are too bitter to drink.

So, you have to challenge these ancient spirits with a newborn experience. “out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength that thou mightiest still the enemy and the avenger.” To still the enemy is to silence his hateful, demeaning rhetoric. The Spiritual application here is that when someone opens their mouth as a newborn babe in Christ, the New Birth Experience; it mutes hell. It’s like every auditory nerve in the Universe suddenly goes deaf, and as if some ethereal sound producer is at the controls the evil words fade out. Huh? I can’t hear you. I’m too busy singing. Huh? I can’t hear you. I’m too busy quoting the Word. Huh? I can’t hear you. I’m too busy praying in the Spirit. Your New Birth Experience has more power than demonic exaggerations that try to intimidate you. They will boast weapons of shame. They will target your vulnerable areas. But your New Birth Experience has more power than demonic excavations. These are the things they dig up from your past. Bones of bitterness. Rotted flesh of failures. Decomposed bodies of sin and regrets. Skulls of old thoughts in the dirt of shame. But your New Birth Experience has more power than demonic exploitations. These are the disadvantages the enemy thinks you have; your weaknesses he can key in on; your failures of the past that he can try and capitalize on when you try to do something for God, say something for God.

Goliath threatened Israel in I Samuel 17 and the Israelites were weakened by what they saw in Goliath. But then came David. And David was strengthened by what God saw in him. God’s view of us is more powerful than our fearful view of the enemy. Listen now…

Pharaoh or Follower

Then Pharaoh looked out his window and saw Aaron standing in a nearby field. Something was in his hand. Dirt? No, ashes. And just then Aaron and Moses required an audience and as they stood before the ever-defiant Pharaoh Moses lifted his hand and slowly allowed the ashes to sprinkle on the wind. From the ashes of the furnace boils were born. The boils got so bad on all the people that the magicians canceled their next performance; they were too embarrassed by the ravaging sores all over their bodies.

But the boils only boiled Pharaoh’s resolve, and he stubbornly went back to his room, slammed the door and would not let the slave labor be free. It’s funny how Pharaoh became more imprisoned by pride and became a slave to his own will and wore heavier chains of bondage to destiny.

You see, you can’t do it your way and have prosperity with God. And men often think God is just suppressing their skills or intelligence; that by making God a non-existent entity they can erase limitations or human guilt. But God isn’t going anywhere? And no matter who says He doesn’t exist simply doesn’t change His existence.

The fool hath said in his heart there is no God. But God is a rewarder of those who believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. There is no reward in rejection. There is no comfort in ignoring God’s existence, or in refusing God’s instructions, or in reforming God to be something man-made and man controlled. Listen now…

The Cancellation Policy of Heaven

Luk 5:1  And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 

Luk 5:2  And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 

Luk 5:3  And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 

Luk 5:4  Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 

Luk 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 

Luk 5:6  And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

The frustrated fisherman glanced at the barren nets. He rubbed his hands over his eyes and wished he could wipe away the futility of the night. His back ached. His bank account suffered. He stared at a disappearing moon that hung like a curved blade over the waters, and part of him wanted to just cut up these empty nets and make new ones. The morning water lapped at his feet. The boats creaked in the gentle waves. A cool breeze brought no comfort to his tired face. His sleepy eyes dreamed of a big catch. But as the sun arose his spirit did not…

  1. Nevertheless. It just cancelled everything negative before this word. It stopped looking at the past and it started seeing the potential of the moment. Let down the net, don’t give anymore excuses. Let down the net, stop talking about what didn’t happen. Let down the net…
  2. And when they had this done…it’s not what Peter said; it’s what He did. It could have ended with something he said. We can’t. I won’t. I will never happen. Mind your own business. You don’t work in his line of work. Stick to what you know. I’ve toiled all night and I’m going home. The nets didn’t break until Peter first had a break…He broke from the past to empower the moment. You can’t empower the moment if your expectation is always looking over your shoulder; always anticipating the worst outcome. Listen now…
