Gen 8:5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
- Decreased in this context means to decrease in amount as to become negligible. It doesn’t have the ability to harm like it did. It doesn’t have the measure of intimidation it once held. Now think about it, for 150 days it kept getting worse; but then when the decreasing began it kept decreasing until the tenth month. So, for a time it gets worse every day; and then for a time it gets better every day.
- At first the only peaks visible were the highest ones on Ararat. But then in the tenth month, the tops of other mountains were seen. If you continue in grace, if you persist in prayer, if you keep walking in the Word, if you maintain your daily principles of righteousness, the waters of defeat will recede. And they will recede to a point to see other victories, hidden peaks of hope and spiritual restoration. You don’t just a one or two victories, but the tops of many mountains, a range of revival.
