Job declared that he would wait for his appointed time “till my change comes.” Job 14:14
The appointed time was a military term used for the changing of the guard, or for being relieved from hard service. So, to Job the transition to the grave and beyond was like being relieved from the hard service of this life, being allowed to rest from his post of duty.
